Entrepreneur and Employment Visas:

If you’re an employer and are looking to employ someone from abroad to come to the UK and work for you, you will be required to apply for a Tier 2 Sponsorship Licence. If you’re looking to come and work at any company or set up your own business in the UK, you will need to apply for a Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa or a Tier 2 Visa. In addition to these types of visas, you may need to make an application for the Tier 5 Youth Mobility Scheme, a Tier 5 Temporary Worker Visa or a Turkish Visa Application dependent on if you’re a Turkish national.

Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visas:

If you’re an entrepreneur or investor with a significant number of business funds that are readily available to be used solely to set up a business or invest in a current UK business, then you will be eligible to apply for a Tier 1 Entrepreneur Visa.

Tier 2 Sponsorship Licence:

Looking to employ someone from outside the EEA to come and work for you in the UK? You will need to apply for a Tier 2 Sponsorship Licence. With this application process, there is specific criteria that must be met by the employer which consists of: appointing an authorising officer to be accountable for the actions of the sponsored employees, appointing a key contact who will be the main point of contact for the UK Visas and Immigration Service (UKVI) and appointing a Level 1 User who will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the sponsored employee – these roles can be filled by either different people or the same person. In addition to this, as a sponsor’s employer, you must be able to keep records of your sponsored employee and report any required information to the Home Office. If you’re looking to make this application, please be aware that you will not be eligible if you have had any unspent criminal convictions for immigration or other criminal offences, if you’ve failed to previously carry out your duty as a sponsor. You must ensure that you have all of the appropriate systems in place to monitor your sponsored employees.

Currently, you can apply for a Turkish Visa Application under two routes – a business person or a worker. As a business person, your visa will be permitted for 12-month, however, it can be extended for up to 3 years if you are working in the same business for this duration of time. After you have had your Turkish Visa for a total of 4 years, you will be allowed to make an application to remain in the UK if you wish to do so. If you’re looking to apply under the route of a worker, you can make this application if you have been residing in the UK for a minimum period of 1-year as one of the following: a spouse or a British citizen or a settled person residing in the UK, a holder of a work permit that permits you to work in the UK or as a student who is allowed to work up to a total of 20 hours during term-time and full-time during holiday periods.
