The right-to-buy scheme is a government-run scheme where tenants across England and Wales can purchase their property for a lower price than the market value.
You will not be eligible for the right-to-buy scheme if any of the following apply:
- The property that you intend to purchase is not your main home
- You have unsettled debts or creditors or have been declared bankrupt
- You have been instructed to leave the property that you intend to purchase by the court
- The property is not self-contained
